7 Questions With Rise, Grind, & Ride’s Randall Ryan

Rise, Grind, & Ride is a staple of the coffee and bike scenes in Broken Arrow, OK. They offer great specialty coffee drinks and tasty food for cyclists in the middle of a long ride or for anyone who wants great fare in a friendly atmosphere. We caught up with Rise, Grind, & Ride’s Randall Ryan to hear about what makes R,G, & R’s wheels spin.

Café Campesino: How long has Rise Grind & Ride been operating?

Randall Ryan: Our brick and mortar location opened in March of 2019, however we started our adventure in 2015 at our local farmers market and various events in our community of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma— which is the the 2nd fastest growing city in Oklahoma. This is our 7th season at the Rose District Farmers Market and we just celebrated our 3 year anniversary March 10, 2022!

CC: What is important to your customers?

RR: Quality products and plenty of variations of coffee. We love our customers and are blessed by their support. We communicate and embrace feedback from our customers to grow with them, good or bad. Customers love the consistency of our products and services. The coffee is above and beyond their expectations!!

CC: How did you all find Café Campesino?

RR: I personally met the crew of Café Campesino on RAGBRAI 2013 on a farm outside of a little town in rural Iowa! I think I drank 2 pots of coffee that morning– the BRAG Brew, LOL. I stopped everyday that week on the 7-day journey across Iowa. Café Campesino literally fueled my rides daily. Hence the reason I later chose the name of Rise Grind & Ride, meaning we Rise in the morning, Grind our coffee which fuels our Ride of the day. Preferably that day is on two wheels.

CC: What is your go-to coffee blend or origin of coffee?

RR: My family and our community loves the BRAG Blend. My wife ( Serena) is the first black coffee drinker of the family. I am now as well. I personally have grown to love the Mexico origin as well as BRAG.

CC: What is the fan favorite coffee drink at Rise Grind & Ride?

RR: Oh man put me on the spot there. Located in Oklahoma we always brace our seasons of change. Okies are known for chasing Tornadoes and the craziness of springtime. We always have our Tornado Swirl on the specialty drink menu. Easygoing Espresso, Caramel & White Chocolate with Oat Milk. We are also known for our Cold Brew in which we will use BRAG or Easygoing Espresso bean.

CC: What is the best way to drink coffee on a Century Ride?

RR: I drink coffee at the beginning and may have another cup during the ride, depending on if I have a tailwind or not.

CC: If you were stranded on an island with access to only one coffee drink what would you choose? Why?

RR: Cold Brew. I could grind the bean, let it steep and drink happily. Freshest and smoothest cup of coffee ever!

If you are in the Tulsa/Broken Arrow area and looking for a great cup of coffee, head over to Rise, Grind, & Ride. Four wheels, two wheels, or two feet, you will be welcome and happy you checked the out.
