CPC’s Background
Nestled in the hills of southern Lao, the Bolaven Plateau Coffee Producers Cooperative, known as the CPC, sprung to life in 2007 with a helping hand from the French Agency for Development. Their mission from the start has been to give small-scale coffee producers an alternative to less lucrative and less dependable local markets, offering them a fresh path to prosperous market access and direct relationships. As it stands today, CPC stands as a great example of cooperation among independent farmers helping them make steady progress in US fair trade and organic coffee markets.
Energized by an ardent desire to expand their coffee’s presence across the United States and Canada, CPC is fervently dedicated to elevating their coffee’s quality. Backed by the support of the French Agency for Development, each co-op coffee producing community has its own modern washing station allowing for the development of excellent coffee quality in each village. the washing stations boast state-of-the-art equipment to expertly depulp cherries and ensure a timely, top-tier wash and dry of parchment coffee, guaranteeing the finest quality beans.

CPC’s Process
Prior to making their way to the dry mill, every bag is meticulously marked with weight, the village of origin, post-drying moisture content, the date it entered into community drying patios, and the date it was taken from those same beds before being sealed in bags for preservation. CPC prides itself on a robust and dedicated team working tirelessly to improve the lives of farmers and exceed their customers’ expectations.
CPC’s fully-washed arabica beans feature a sweet aroma of chocolate and nougat with notes of vanilla and cream. This coffee is delicate on the taste buds with a full body and a light acidity.
