Employee Spotlight: 5 Questions With Location Manager Esme

Photo of Esme the production lead at Cafe Campesino.

We have an incredible crew at Café Campesino. With that mind, every now and again we like to take the time to highlight the great people that transform our farmer-partners’ expertly-grown raw beans into the incredible cup of coffee that you enjoy on a daily basis.

Today we’d like to introduce you to one of the women that make Café Campesino go. Esmeralda (aka Esme) has been with us for many years and has played a huge role in our ability to grow while never losing sight of our mission and our focus on our craft. Read on to find out more about one of our fearless leaders…

Café Campesino: How long have you been working with Café Campesino?

Esme: I have been working with Cafe Campesino for almost 7 years.

CC: What is your role at Café Campesino?

Esme: Location manager but I do and I like to do a little bit of everything.

CC: Are you a coffee drinker? If so, how did you discover coffee?

Esme: I love coffee, I discovered coffee through my grandma, every time we went to visit her she would always make coffee to drink and eat with a piece of bread while all the family chatted on the porch, of course mine had more milk than coffee.

CC: If you were stranded on a desert island with one coffee and one song, what coffee would you want to have and what song would you listen to when you drink it?
Esme: I would choose Mexico, because it would remind me of my family and I don’t have a specific song, it would be boring to listen to same song over and over. But one of my favorites singers is Enrique Iglesias.

CC: What do you drink when you are not slinging coffee?

Esme: I really love matcha. I would have a matcha latte or matcha iced latte.

Thanks to Esme and to all of the team– they are the heartbeat of Americus!
