At Cafe Campesino, creating a caring global community starts at home. We strive not only to treat one another with dignity and respect, but also to promote teamwork, to celebrate each other’s achievements, and, of course, to have fun.
Itzel Reyes:
Purchasing Manager & Customer Service
Itzel Reyes is originally from Mexico. She arrived in the USA in 2007 and started working at Cafe Campesino in 2012. She knows all the stages of the roastery-- she started as a production assistant, roasted for a couple of years, became production manager, ran inventory management, and now leads purchasing and customer service. She loves to make our customers smile, coffee from Mexico, the beach, and traveling coast to coast with her family. She hopes to soon visit our coffee farmer partners in Mexico or Colombia.
Tripp Pomeroy:
CEO, Business Development, and Trading Partner Relations
Tripp is the CEO of Cafe Campesino and Sweetwater Organic Coffee and serves on the board of our importing co-op-- Cooperative Coffees. With more than 25 years of experience in international business and development, he is a strong advocate for the cooperative business model, fair trade, and organic agriculture. His career began in Americus, GA, where he worked as the PR coordinator for Habitat for Humanity International’s 1990 Jimmy Carter Work Project in Tijuana, Mexico, and San Diego, California. This experience ultimately led him to become a co-owner of Cafe Campesino in 2004, alongside Bill and Lee Harris. Tripp has lived and worked in South America and has been involved in various business initiatives across Latin America, Europe, and Asia. He holds a BA from Tufts University and an MA in International Development from American University’s School of International Service in Washington, D.C.
Esmeralda (Esme) Hernandez:
Location Manager
Esmeralda Hernandez started working as a production assistant for Cafe Campesino in 2015. In that role, she helped roast, pack and ship our coffees. Now, she manages our daily work-loads and oversees coffee packing and shipping, and placing green beans. She is also Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) certified. Born in Mexico, Esme moved to Americus when she was 15 with her parents and her sister. She is the mom of two energetic boys, loves to spend her free time with family cooking outside, visiting new restaurants around Atlanta, as well as traveling to Tennessee mountain and beaches in Florida. Her favorite coffees are Guatemala and Sidama Natural.
Matt Earley:
Director of Sales, Marketing, and Community
Matt Earley’s work with small-scale coffee farmers began in 1997 when he first connected with producers in Chiapas, Mexico. With more than two decades in the fair trade and organic coffee industry, he has traveled the world, forging relationships with farmers, roasters, and like-minded coffee enthusiasts. After years of collaborating and traveling with Café Campesino and Sweetwater through their importing cooperative, Cooperative Coffees, Matt officially became part of the team in 2021 as Sales, Marketing, and Community Director. When he’s not immersed in the coffee world, he enjoys making music, exploring the outdoors, and spending time with his family and his beloved dog Rosie aka "Rose The Nose".
Marcia Dupree:
Financial Manager
Marcia exudes flair, class, and order to both colleagues and customers alike. She parlays her years spent in banking as a Controller and HR Supervisor to keep the accounts of Cafe Campesino organized and accurate.....and free of coffee spills. She relishes having all her family locally in Americus and recently celebrated the marriage of her youngest daughter. She counts her best vacation as a 2009 trip to Montana and Wyoming with her husband and one of her daughters and would love to take her grandkids to Disney World one day.
Vinnie Fiorello:
Social Media
A passionate creator and devoted coffee lover, Vinnie Fiorello channels his enthusiasm for storytelling and community engagement into his work at Sweetwater Organic Coffee. Best known for his 20-year tenure as the drummer and lyricist for Less Than Jake and as a co-founder of Fueled By Ramen Records, Vinnie’s love for coffee has evolved from simple appreciation to active advocacy. At Sweetwater, he plays a key role in creative development and social media, blending his passion for ethical sourcing, artistic expression, and bringing people together through shared experiences. Beyond coffee, he continues to explore creative projects that unite people through art, music, and, of course, exceptional coffee.
Geoffrey Hennies:
Technical Support
Geoffrey discovered Café Campesino while volunteering at Koinonia Partners. For over 25 years, he has served communities nationwide, including 2½ years rebuilding in post-Katrina New Orleans.
He provides technical support and manages Café Campesino's web presence through Lowthian Design, where he also helps social justice organizations establish their digital presence.
Geoffrey now lives in Guatemala, inspired by his travels with Café Campesino to meet coffee farmers—where he also met his husband. He helped launch www.handsofguatemala.com, showcasing textiles from the Chajul women's cooperative, and collaborates with NGOs in Guatemala, El Salvador, and U.S. nonprofits.
