The holidays may be over, but the festivities carry on. This month the staff at Café Campesino Coffee House brings you a delicious spiced coffee drink perfect for gatherings of family or friends. This tasty treat, based on the original Coffee Grog made famous at Don the Beachcombers tiki bar, is easy to whip up and serves 6 or more. For an extra little kick, add in our favorite rum!

Cafe Campesino Coffee Grog Recipe

 3 fl oz freshly brewed Café Campesino coffee
 ½ cup heavy cream
 1 orange peel, cut into 6 pieces
 1 lemon peel, cut into 6 pieces
 1 cup brown sugar
 2 tbsp butter, softened
 1 pinch ground allspice
 ¼ tsp ground cloves
 ¼ tsp ground nutmeg
 ¼ tsp ground cinnamon

Blend nutmeg, allspice, sugar, cloves, cinnamon, and butter together in a medium mixing bowl. Slowly pour in hot coffee and cream and stir until blended. Serve in prewarmed mugs and garnish with lemon peel and orange peel pieces.

Tiki mugs are optional but recommended.
